GO HERE !!! I’ve recently become obsessed with cheese and this place has become my go to spot for fondue and raclette ! The ambiance is very welcoming and charming; reminds me of being in the mountains. Great cocktails as well, def get the espresso martini and dirty (it comes with cute Swiss flag). Service was also very good. Overall this place is super chill and laid back.
In this area, there are many cafes targeted at tourists, but the service and the taste of the food often don't quite live up to expectations. Initially, we had similar thoughts as we decided to step into this café for a beer and maybe some chips. The staff inside warmly showed us to our seats and took our orders with big smiles. While I wished the beer had been a bit colder, the Lobster Bacon Sandwich we ordered was incredibly delicious, pleasantly simple, meticulously prepared, and even had a cute Swiss flag decoration. The lobster was fresh, and its pairing with avocado was spot on.
Eating the sandwich, it became evident that this café puts a lot of care into their food, making us confident that choosing this place was the right decision. Later, we ordered warm Apple Strudel, Prosecco, and Hot Coffee. At $3 for drip coffee in this area, it's very reasonable! The taste was delightful and rich.
The warm apple strudel was made with great attention, not overly sweet, with a crispy crust and a melt-in-your-mouth filling—arguably the best apple pie in New York! I'll definitely come back here, aiming to try the Lobster Bisque that everyone praises. Until next time!
Perfect cozy Swiss themed place on a wintry nyc night. The schnitzel is the standout here. But the vibes will make you long for a trip back to the old continent.
Really lovely place! I wanted healthier options for breakfast, so we ventured here and I’m so happy we did. The granola and yogurt bowl was amazing and the service and vibe were top notch.
Good place for brunch with a friend, especially when the weather is nice.
I don't know if it was just a temporary thing, but It was cash only when we visited it
The server tried really hard but my dream of a Swiss fondue was shattered. The cheese fondue dish was fine but the accompaniment was bread and fruit. The potato was very limited and raw. I explained I didn't want grapes with a cheese fondue and got some more potato which was ice cold and under cooked. $100 worth of disappointment.. My benchmark fondue I had in Gruyere. It's a simple dish and superb if well executed. This evening it wasn't even close. I went to this place because of the reviews but Lavaux on Houston which I visited a few months ago is a better choice. I was so disappointed.
Very over rated is the summary of the visit. The food was okay, nothing special, but the prices made us feel like they robbed you in broad daylight. I included pics below, first guess of the total? Burger, no fries, no cheese, salad (no greens or protein), two drinks. $93 😯!!! Absolutely crazy, not worth the price at all. Would not recommend going here- for that cost, there are 20+ better restaurants in a 2 block radius.
Edit: Crazy that the restaurant tried to call out my math not working out (even though it does, see breakdown below) rather than offer any actual feedback to counter my points. Yes NYC is expensive, hence your expectation is that you receive a quality meal. With so many amazing restaurants in NYC worth the money, it’s not worth going here.
Burger $21
Salad $17
Drinks $34
Tax $6
Tip $15
Total $93 - math checks out
(also crazy the restaurant says tipping is optional, I wonder how their waitstaff would react to the owner telling the customers not to tip)
Food was great. We had the Catalan Shrimp as an appetizer. My entire party had the risotto, except me. I had the chicken schnitzel. They devoured their plates and raved about how great it was. The chicken schnitzel was cooked to perfection, …
